Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has said that he expects to see more from the club’s new signing Alexis Sanchez ahead of the 2-0 win over Huddersfield in the FA Cup.
The Chilean was somewhat subdued in the first half but was impressive in the second, linking up well with Romelu Lukaku for the second goal.
Fans will certainly agree with Scholes’ statement as it is still early days to judge Sanchez but there are hopes that he will continue getting better.
Despite having Premier League experience, switching clubs is always difficult, particularly half way through the season and supporters may have to wait until the next season to see him at his best.
Paul appears to be a fan of Alexis though and the hopes are that he can take United to the next level with his obvious talent.
Scholes on Sanchez: “I think he’s best on the left, it’s where he plays his best football. Four of his forward players want to play on the left. I think he does all his best work there. Great footwork, ability, he makes great runs. I expect more to come from him.” #mufc [bt] pic.twitter.com/dnFplQtjwZ

Alexis Sanchez will definitely have plenty to prove but there is some comfort in knowing he didn’t cost the Red Devils a single penny in transfer fees.
Without the weight of that factor on his shoulders, the former Arsenal man can focus solely on his football as he attempts to help the club win the FA Cup, challenge for the Champions League as unlikely as it is and secure second spot in the Premier League.
Sanchez has already grabbed his first goal for Manchester United so that does alleviate some pressure from him but it’s now a crucial time of a season where they will need him to step up.
