Torino vs Juventus
The big match in Italy at Sunday lunchtime was the Turin derby.
Juventus, who are chasing down Napoli at the top of the table, traveled to city rivals Torino.
Juventus came into the match on the back of the 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the Champions League.
The Bianconeri raced out into a 2-0 lead after just nine minutes. Gonzalo Higuian extended his hot streak to eight goals in five games.
However Higuian still ended the game with a black mark after he missed a penalty on the striker of halftime.
Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain is injured
Higuian was back in the Juve starting XI against Torino, but the Argentine didn’t last long.
In just the 16th minute of the game, Higuian was replaced by Federico Bernardeschi.
Higuian limped out of the game after struggling to move around since the fourth minute. He asked to be subbed off as he couldn’t continue with his knock.
How long will Higuian be out for? How bad is his injury?
Juve and Tottenham fans will be searching for updates ahead of their second leg at Wembley.
Paul Merson on Harry Kane
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson made a big statement about Tottenham striker Harry Kane on Saturday.
Appearing on Sky Sports, Merson made his comment in the context of Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Juventus last week.
The talking head said “if Harry Kane produces that form, (England) can win the World Cup.”
Really?!
Merson clarified his position by arguing that Juventus are the best defence in club football. So if Kane can boss the Bianconeri about, why can’t he do it on the international stage?
