Where is Man City’s Aymeric Laporte?
Manchester City are wondering what’s happened to Aymeric Laporte on Monday.
Laporte played 90 minutes on Satuday as the Sky Blues beat Leicester City 5-1.
Raheem Sterling opened after three minutes before Sergio Aguero scored four goals.
Kevin De Buryne starred with a hat-trick of assists in the Foxes match.
All attention has now focused to the match against Basel in the Champions League on Tuesday night in Switzerland. But on Monday’s training session before the Basel game, Laporte, who joined Man City from Bilbao in the January window, was no where to be seen.
The BBC seem dumbfounded as to Laporte’s whereabouts:
No reason has been given for the absence of £57m club record signing Aymeric Laporte from Manchester City’s training session this morning.
Gabriel Jesus’ absence with a knee injury was more predictable and the potential availability of Leroy Sane, David Silva and Fabien Delph compensates for that.
Basel team news vs Manchester City
Germano Vailati and central midfielder Luca Zuffi, who started against Manchester United, will miss out through injury.
Granit Xhaka’s brother, Thaulant, is expected to parter Seri Die in midfield.
Route to Round of 16
