Return
Leicester City manager Claude Puel has been speaking about Riyad Mahrez’s reintegration into the squad today and it’s pretty positive.
That is because the boss has revealed that the players have all forgiven him following his antics at the beginning of the month.
The player submitted a transfer request in the hope of pushing through a move to Manchester City.
Though, despite Pep Guardiola’s side offering £50million plus Patrick Roberts, Leicester stood firm.
That lead to the player effectively going on strike and refusing to come into training or play any games.
That strike finished on the eve of the Premier League clash between Leicester and Manchester City.
Valentines love
Now, the Foxes boss has even joked that the player doesn’t need any Valentines because his teammates have forgiven him!
“For Riyad, he has no need for valentines, he has a good relationship with his teammates,” he explained.
“He comes back with a smile and the story is behind him. All the players want to move on.
“I think it was a good reception when he came on at Man City.
“They’Il think the fans understand the difficulty to manage this period for him and the club.
“I think we have stayed united.
“It is important now together we need to look forward.
“I am sure we can have a good feeling and make a good achievement for the end of the season.”
