Brazil manager Tite names World Cup starting line-up

Toby Lambert, February 17, 2018

Brazil’s starting line-up

Speaking to UOL Esportes, Tite named his Brazilian starting line-up for this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

The Brazilian manager has made a few surprise exclusions, including captain and central defender Thiago Silva, whilst there is also no place for Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.

Goalkeeper

“The 11 who will start are Alisson;”

The Roma goalkeeper has had an excellent season in Serie A and the Champions League with his stock beginning to seriously rise around Europe.

The player has been subject to huge interest all around Europe with a £60m fee being mentioned in the media.

Alisson’s form hands Brazil a huge boost ahead of next summer’s tournament in Russia, with Seelcao looking to sort out their issues in defence.

Defence

“Marcelo, Miranda, Marquinhos, Daniel Alves;”

One notable absentee is Thiago Silva who misses out with PSG teammate Marquinhos and Inter Milan defender Miranda taking his place.

Meanwhile, either side of the two central-defenders are the wise heads of Marcelo and Daniel Alves who will both be desperate to finally produce on the world stage for Brazil.

Midfield

“Paulinho, Renato Augusto and Casemiro;”

Former Spurs midfielder Paulinho’s remarkable turn around continues, as after an excellent campaign with Barcelona, he looks set to start for Brazil in Russia.

Alongside him is fellow La Liga midfielder Casmerio, who has been in and out of form this season, and Renato Augusto, who has grown to be a regular feature for the national team.

Attack

“Neymar, Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus.”

This will arguably be the strongest attack in Russia this summer, with three of the world’s most deadly forwards set to combine.

Neymar and Gabriel Jesus have both been in fine form for their club sides this summer, whilst Coutinho is beginning to adjust to life at the Nou Camp.
