‘West Brom to sack Alan Pardew after Barcelona’
The big story in the Sun on Monday morning centres of West Brom.
The Baggies have attracted headlines for all the wrong reasons after their sunny training camp in Barcelona.
Four West Brom players got into serious trouble after they ‘stole a taxi’ on their Spanish trip.
The players were Gareth Barry, Jonny Evans, Boaz Myhill and Jake Livermore.
Capping off the ridiculousness, manager Alan Pardew lost his wallet and mobile phone during the Barcelona trip as well.
All those stories have gone down badly with the West Brom management. That’s lead the Sun to announce:
Alan Pardew has been given just two games to save his job by West Brom owner Guochuan Lai in the wake of ‘Taxi-gate’.
A source in China told SunSport last night: ‘Mr Lai is furious.’
‘In China, discipline is a basic skill, the minimum required to be successful in any professional.’
‘He cannot believe that a group of players who are supposed to be all pulling their weight in getting out of trouble in the league cannot stay out of trouble off the field.’
West Brom 1 – Southampton 2
It was a bad weekend on the pitch for West Brom as well.
The Baggies, who beat Liverpool in the last round of the FA Cup, were dumped out the competition by Southampton.
Wesley Hoedt opened for the Saints after just 11 minutes, while Southampton doubled their lead through Dusan Tadic in the 56th.
A tremendous volley from Salomon Rondon brought West Brom back into the contest, but the Baggies were unable to find an equaliser.
West Brom, who are bottom of the Premier League, have now lost their last four matches in a row. They take on Huddersfield next weekend in the EPL at the Hawthorns.
